ByTerry Growth Booster Mascara: Iconic Bordeaux

As a rule, 'red' and 'eyes' don't tend to go hand in hand. Normally one to dodge hues of rouge for fear of looking insane and/or diseased, the fact this product has wormed its way permanently into my makeup bag is quite a feat. I'll firstly start by clarifying that we're not talking red-hot, fiery lashes with ByTerry's Growth Booster Mascara in the shade Iconic Bordeaux. In fact, it's exactly as the shade suggests; a deep, red wine burgundy.

Down to finer details, the bristle wand is on the hefty side but separates lashes beautifully, creating that fluttery, natural look. Root to tip, lashes are looked after by the Lumicoat care technology which nourishes and encourages growth of lashes. Glycoproteins stimulate growth, whilst the formula is also enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and collagen which injects moisture and strength into the lashes. The pigments used in the formula are extra fine meaning the colour is rich and intense. 

I like to think that the best way to rock the rouge on the peepers is to accompany this glorious product with warm-toned brown eyeshadows, a personal favourite being Handwritten by MAC. Smudged out chocolate brown liner and plenty of smokiness, I think this look is subtly sexy and gives any standard look an extra quirk. The Growth Booster range comes in 6 shades; 1. Black Part-Pris, 2. Moka Brown, 3.Terrybleu, 4. Purple Success, 5. Iconic Bordeaux and 6. Dark Forest. Parting with £31 for a mascara may bring a solitary tear to your eye but think of it like this, the serum-like formula is caring for your eyelashes whilst giving them that oomph of something different. Could we ask for more?
